... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening to
10 PM PST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for snow and freezing rain which is in effect from 10 PM
this evening to 10 PM PST Thursday.

* Snow accumulations... 1 to 2 inches in valleys... 3 to 5 inches
mountains.

* Freezing rain accumulations... less than one tenth of an inch
late Thursday morning into Thursday afternoon.

* Elevation: all valley floors through Thursday morning... rising
to over 7000 Thursday afternoon.

* Timing... snow will spread eastward across the area this evening
through Thursday morning then mix with a brief period of
freezing rain in valleys Thursday afternoon before changing to
all rain in valleys Thursday evening.

* Impacts... snow and black ice could create difficult travel
conditions for a brief time late Thursday morning and afternoon.
Due to the strong elevation dependence of this storm, motorists
should be alert to rapidly changing Road conditions if traveling
across higher terrain or mountain passes.
